Aikido Instructions
Aikido instructions? Well, would
step-by-step instructions from a high-ranking Aikido Master do
the job for you?
Naturally, the best place to receive Aikido instructions is as
a martial arts student, in a proper Dojo. This is always best
because it's the safest environment to learn.
You have Aikido instructions directly from your martial arts
instructor's lips. He (or she) is your Sensei. And you
get the help of your fellow Aikido students too.
So it's a comradeship as well. Train with others, and you
become part of a supportive community. Many will go for a beer
or a coffee after training sessions. So you get to make close
friends. And that's good.
Learning from an Aikido book, a Video or a DVD is a poor second
to practicing in a class atmosphere. But Aikido books and DVDs
are a great way to speed your learning.
These aids work best as a supplement to your formal Aikido
instruction and training. They really should not be used as a
substitute for an Aikido teacher and a proper Aiki dojo.
However, if there is no martial arts dojo you can go to, then a
book or DVD could be the only Aikido instructions you can
get.
Better than nothing? Yes. As long as you do not injure
yourself or anyone else during the martial arts learning
process.
