Aikido Martial Arts Moves
Aikido martial arts moves were refined by
their inventor to be effective, and yet cause minimum injury to
both the attaker and defender.
The reasoning behind this came from the genius martial artist,
Morihei Ueshiba (O-Sensei), who spent his
life studying various martial arts systems including Ju
Jitsu, and Japanese sword and spear arts.
But as well as being an awsome warrior, Ueshiba was a deeply
religious man. He was a follower of the Omoto sect and, as
he got older, he gradually made his martial arts system gentler
and non violent.
The techniques O-Sensei taught before World War Two
were fierce and absolutely effective, but after the war was
over, he taught his students to be soft instead.
Thus Aikido martial arts evolved from hard, battle-tested
techniques to soft flowing neutralizations - designed to stop
the attacker from hurting anybody, and just pin him so he
cannot move an inch. That's what Aikido Martial Arts are all
about.
