Aikido Tutorial
The best Aikido tutorial I have seen is in
the Aikido ebook by Nick Lowry.
Mr Lowry is a 7th Dan black belt, and a Shihan - a
Master-Teacher of Aikido Teachers. And he is Chief Instructor
at the Windsong Dojo in Chicago, USA.
They do Karl Geiss ryu Aikido, one of the
Tomiki styles which doesn't wear the Hakama split-skirt
(Samurai trousers). Many of their techniques are similar
to Judo.
Nick Lowry spent years making his own personal notes and turned
them into this Aikido tutorial, which you can buy as a
downloadable PDF ebook.
It's got 200 pages and as you'd expect in a good Aikido
tutorial, heaps of excellent pictures. These are not photos,
but drawings by a skilled artist.
I own a paid-for copy of the ebook myself, and the feedback
I've gotten from other readers is that it is excellent. Most
readers who emailed me gave it 5 out of 5 stars (Excellent),
and some gave it 4 stars (Very Good).
I personally rate it 5 stars (Excellent), and I have read
several other (hard-copy) books on Tomiki style Aikido to base
my comparisons on. - David Harvey, Shodan, JAA.
