Akido
Akido (actually, it's spelled
Aikido) is the graceful non-violent martial art created
by O-Sensei, Morihei Ueshiba of Japan.
O-Sensei took Budo techniques from Daito Ryu Ju
Jitsu and Japanese sword and spear martial arts and
blended them together into Akido techniques.
In the 1920s, his akido techniques were fierce and hard. His
dojo was even known to his early Japanese akido students as
"Hell Dojo".
O-Sensei, Morihei Ueshiba became very religious and was deeply
into the Omoto religion, a sect of Shintoism.
After World War II was over and when Morihei Ueshiba had had
three documented earth-shattering spriritual/religous
experiences, he named his martial art AI KI DO, which means
WAY of the Spirit of Harmony and taught
non-violence.

Techniques.
