Martial Arts Sites

There must be many thousands of martial arts sites across the Internet, covering every country, style and viewpoint.

Sparring is a part of many martial artsSome martial arts sites will take the 'gung ho' Kill or Get Killed combat approach, others use their martial art as a sport, and lastly there are martial arts sites which focus on the Spiritual aspect and philosophy of their style.

Aikido tends to fall into the third category, since it has a strong spiritual and philosophical side. But it is still a martial art, and thus involves hard physical exercise and body contact that is sometimes dangerous.

The Tomiki style of Aikido has a strong sport and self-defense aspect, and some Shodokan schools even hold competitions. And the Yoshinkai style of Aikido is especially self-defense oriented. Both Shodokan and Yoshinkai styles are used by the elite Tokyo Riot Police.

You'll find other martial arts sites covering Karate, Korean Tae Kwon Do and Hap Ki Do, Chinese Kung Fu, Thai Boxing (Mui Thai), Arnis, Silat, Indian martial arts and even Russian and Israeli martial arts sites.
