Martial Art Skills and Stances
Martial art skills are one thing. Martial Art stances are
another. The skills only come with much hard work and training,
and after that effort has been put in, the stances happen
naturally without your thinking about it.

Martial art skills and stances can save your
hide in a fight, but a true martial artist doesn't go out
looking for a fight.
The ones who have it really don't want to brawl
with anyone. They already know what they can do in a punch-up,
and they don't get a thrill thinking how they can "kick
ass".
The hardest ass they have ever had to kick has
been their own. By this I mean it's very hard to discipline
yourself for years and years to train and focus on honing your
skills.
Any jerk who is half-skilled can kick someone
else's ass, if that person has less skill or is taken by
suprise. Heck, if you got a gun and shot someone you're pissed
off at, does that make you a man? A tough guy? I think not.
If you want to learn a few martial art skills
and stances without doing the work, then youll just have a few
stances. You can try standing on one leg like the Karate Kid
and see if that works - but chances are the other guy's just
going to flatten you if you haven't the skill to back up your
posture.
Otherwise, kiddo, you know the answer already.
Roll up your sleeves. It's time for "Wax on. Wax off."
