Aikido Epping and Alan Ames

Aikido Epping NSW was a long time ago, in the late 1970s, when Alan Ames first started classes there in Tomiki-style Aikido.

Alan Ames started Aikido classes at the Epping Y in the late 1970s. The Aikido classes used to be held at the Epping YMCA, west of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

I wrote about this in another page about the NSW Tomiki Aikido Club, which I founded more than a decade later. This was when Alan Ames was no longer in Sydney Australia.

Alan moved back to the UK at first, then on to Perth, in Western Australia, where he is now a Catholic lay preacher. A man of prophetic visions, I've been told. Quite a change from the wild man we all remember from the 1970s!
