Does Aikido work as a valid form of self defence or is it just an art? Is there anywhere near i could try?

You can basically adapt your practice to whatever end you want to reach. Some people tend to practice the martial side, others, the personnal development and communication side. We try to do both. Don’t know where you live but we have dojos in Phibsboro, Fairview and Swords so come along anytime if you want to give it a go.
