   That’s what I really appreciate about the Shodokan style of Aikido… You get to test your techniques against someone who knows every trick that you know, but he is trying to prevent you from using it on him. So you really have to get your timing right, break his balance and move! I cannot imagine there is anything here that O-Sensei would have disapproved of, if he’d actually gotten to see how Tomiki Sensei taught Aikido. Tomiki Sensei was the first of O-Sensei’s students to be graded by him to Master status.
