<description>While I don&#039;t live in India so I cannot vouch for the proficiency of these martial arts / self defense schools, here are some to start with. I suggest you visit several of them before you commit yourself and make a choice. Find out how much it costs, talk to the instructors and, if possible, to some of the students as well. Get a feel for whether you like them or not.

Martial Art Academy of India (aka Delhi Self Defense India)
They have an amazing &#039;Contact me&#039; page that asks for lots of details. It might be easier to go watch a class first.

New Delhi Aikido Dojo
Aikikai is the original Aikido style founded by Morihei Ueshiba and continued by his family. Aikido is very good but takes a long time to learn.

Feminist Women&#039;s Self Defense
This page points to self defense classes organised by the police for women. You should check up on these, I think.

It seems radio station BIG 92.7 FM in Delhi has been organising women&#039;s self defense classes as well. Try contacting them directly.
