Best self-defense weapon?

What do you think is the best self defense weapon?

I am planning to make a gift and was thinking about buying any of self-defense weapons. I know that they are all designed to give you time to escape, but anyway, what is the best? Pepper spray doesn’t look as a serious option, maybe a stun gun?

Your brain is your best self defense weapon you have. If you’re giving self defense as a gift why not register for some self defense classes. These classes will give knowledge and confidence. Both are more important than any "weapon" you can give.

Having some so-called self-defense weapon does give a sense of security, but it is a false sense of security in my view. A weapon can always be taken from you by a violent attacker and then used on YOU.

Having skills that cannot be taken from you (at least not while you are conscious and in one piece) is far better; but of course it takes work and effort.

Everybody wants to be Mister Spock from the early Star Trek series, so they can immobilize people with a Vulcan Nerve Pinch. Sorry, but it really isn’t that easy.

Ya, I agree with Joey M.

A self defense course is a great gift. Maybe one of the seminar style courses where they teach the general basics over a couple hours.

If your friend is really interested, they could continue with that type of training locally.
